Honesty is the best policy In a world filled with complexities and moral dilemmas, one timeless virtue stands tall as a guiding beacon for human interactions—honesty.

The adage "Honesty is the best policy" may have echoed through the corridors of time, but its significance remains as potent today as it was in generations past. In this blog post, we will delve into the profound importance of honesty in our personal lives, relationships, and society at large.

I will explore the ways in which honesty fosters trust, nurtures authenticity, and ultimately leads to a more harmonious and morally grounded world. Along the way, we will also provide some practical tips to help you embrace honesty in your daily life.

Tips  "Honesty is the Best Policy"

1. Self-Reflection: Start by looking inward. Reflect on your values and beliefs. Understand why honesty is important to you personally. This self-awareness will provide a strong foundation for your commitment to honesty.

2. Practice open communication. In your personal relationships, prioritize open and honest communication. Encourage others to share their thoughts and feelings with you, and reciprocate with the same transparency.

3. Choose Your Words Carefully: Honesty doesn't mean being blunt or hurtful. It's important to be truthful while also considering the impact of your words. When communicating, use tact and compassion.

4. Admit Mistakes: When you make a mistake, acknowledge it. Honesty isn't just about telling the truth; it's also about taking responsibility for your actions. Admitting your mistakes shows integrity.

5. Set realistic expectations: Be honest with yourself and others about what you can and cannot do. Setting realistic expectations helps avoid disappointment and misunderstandings.

6. Avoid Gossip: Resist the temptation to engage in gossip or spread rumors. Gossip often involves embellishing the truth or even fabricating stories, which undermines honesty.

7. Keep Promises: If you make a commitment, follow through on it. Keeping your promises demonstrates reliability and builds trust with others.

8. Seek Feedback: Encourage feedback from friends, family, and colleagues about your honesty. Constructive feedback can help you improve and stay true to your commitment to honesty.

9. Lead by Example: Be a role model for honesty. When others see your commitment to truthfulness, they are more likely to follow suit.

10. Practice patience. Honesty can sometimes lead to difficult conversations or conflicts. Be patient and willing to work through these challenges for the sake of maintaining your commitment to honesty.

Now read the story of an honest man who was rewarded by Almighty Allah for his honesty. "The necklace which was very precious." An honest, trustworthy and the poorest man tells his story. He said that once while performing Tawaf-e-Kaaba, I saw the necklace, which was very precious. While picking up the necklace, I looked around to check whether someone was looking at me or not.

My heart wanted me to hide it, but my conscience said no, it is cheating and theft, but the requirement of honesty is that I give it back to the one whose this necklace is. So I stood in the 'Mautaf' and announced at full volume that if anyone had lost a necklace, come and take it from me.

In the meantime, on listening to my announcement, a blind man came to me and said that the necklace you found is mine and has fallen out of my bag.

Greed is a curse

My greed rebuked me, even more, when I came to know that the owner of the necklace was blind. Nobody knew about the necklace, which was very precious. It was a good opportunity to hide it because the claimer was totally blind and did not know the design, make, and type of the necklace.

In the meantime, at once I looked at the HOLY KAABA. My body begins to tremble with fear of the Almighty Allah. I gave him the necklace, which was very precious, with trembling hands.

The blind man prayed a lot for me and left for his destination. As per our knowledge, and belief, we understand that blind persons don't have more knowledge about the world as we see it.

But it is not true. For your information and knowledge, another event of a blind man's knowledge is being quoted here.

Identification of Diamond

A King was sitting in an open place and was listening to the problems of under-command people. Suddenly a stranger came and requested permission to show some objects to the King. The king permitted him. The stranger put two things on the table before King.

He told the king that he travelled to many countries and showed these things to every king but no one succeeded to judge the difference between real and unreal. The two objects looked exactly the same size, the same colour, and the same lustre as if these two objects seemed to imitate each other.

The king said that these two objects are exactly alike. So the stranger said yes, they show the same but they are different. One of them is a very precious diamond and the other is glass. Apparently, they are one and the same. Yet, no one has been able to identify which diamond and which glass.

If someone correctly identified it and I lose, then this precious diamond will be yours, otherwise, you have to give me the price of this diamond as a reward.

The King looked at the people sitting there but no one raised either a head or hand. So the king decided to declare the failure. Suddenly a blind man raised his hand and requested to give him a chance. The king granted him permission.

The blind man picked the objects one by one and separated the real and unreal objects. The stranger said "Well, you got it right" Congratulation, the diamond goes to the king.

Everyone was surprised at how a blind man knew what a real diamond was. The blind man said, "It's very easy and simple. We're all sitting in the sun. I touched them both." The Real diamond that stayed cool.
The glass got hot.

In the same way in life, a person who gets hot in difficult situations and cannot cope with the situation is like glass and he who stays cool in all situations is like a diamond.

Believe it or not we are quirky common man

Now come to the real story:-

I always ask and pray to Allah! Make some arrangements for provision (Riziq) for me. Roaming here and there in search of a job, I came to a faraway village. I went to the central mosque there and came to know that Imam Sahib of this mosque had recently died due to a severe heart attack a few days ago.

People asked me to lead the prayer. After the prayer, they liked my recitation of the Holy Quran. They said to me that we need an Imam. If you are interested, we will offer you this job with handsome pay. I was shelterless and incomeless.

After a little hesitation, I accepted their offer with thanks and started performing the duties of leading prayers (Imamat) there. A few days later, it was found that Imam Sahib, who had died earlier, had left a young daughter behind. He had bequeathed that his daughter should be married to a virtuous person.

A close relative of the late Imam approached me and said, "If you wish, we can marry you the only daughter of the late Imam Sahib, who inherited a big house and an established business also." I replied to him that I shall tell you a few days later after the negotiation.

I needed a house and a wife. I agreed to his proposal and sent my willingness through a friend. After some days, I was married to her.

After the marriage, I saw my wife wearing "the necklace, which was very precious" around her neck. And I gave it to a blind man during Tawaf a few months ago. I was surprised to see that necklace on my wife's neck.

I asked her how it came into her hands. She said, "It was given to me by my father." He was blind and an ex-Imam of this masjid.

Now he is your father-in-law. Then I came to know that his father was the one to whom I had returned "the necklace, which was very precious." I told her that I had found the necklace during Tawaf in Mautaf at Kaaba.

She said that your prayer was accepted, and my father's prayer was also accepted by Almighty Allah. I asked her to please explain the details. She replied in turn that your supplication was accepted in such a way that Allah Almighty gave you a house, a wife, and provision.

My father's supplication was accepted in such a way that when he came back with this necklace, he used to pray:

O, Allah! A trustworthy person has returned my necklace to me. Oh, Allah! My beloved only daughter needs a trustworthy husband for herself. Allah also accepted my father's prayer and made you my husband.
